Not Able to Satisfy Your Woman In Bed? Here Is How to Breathe Your Way to Long-Lasting Sex!

Not Able to Satisfy Your Woman In Bed? Here Is How to Breathe Your Way to Long-Lasting Sex!

What if bringing your woman to climax didn't have to be so difficult? What if lasting longer in bed didn't have to be something you have to battle with? What if you could last as long as you want during sex as if you're in full control of your ejaculation, happy, and fulfilled? And you could do it without using pills, creams, or desensitization sprays?

Read on to find out how other guys are able to go from lasting only 10 seconds to lasting for more than 60 minutes in bed, and how you can too.

The way you breathe during intercourse is actually increasing your anxiety levels and pushing you towards ejaculating even faster. Adopt the right breathing technique, take my advice, and in just a few weeks, you'll end the embarrassment of premature ejaculation and last longer in bed and give your woman the right amount of intercourse time she deserves.

Notice how you start to breathe faster as you get close to ejaculation? Unlike other bodily functions that are out of your control, such as getting an erection, breathing is the only bodily function that can be voluntarily controlled.

Why is breathing so important?

If you didn't know by now, keeping your arousal in check is one of the two most important steps that will help you last longer during sex.

And fortunately, breathing is one of the important factor that can help you manage your arousal levels and eventually hold back your ejaculation during sex.

And it goes without saying, to keep your arousal in check, you need to adopt the correct breathing technique. Because as sex intensifies and you do nothing to control it, you end up pushing yourself towards early ejaculation.

So to put it simple, you need to learn and practice the correct breathing technique, and supercharge your sexual stamina in the bedroom. Here, how you breathe, the speed and duration of each breath - is vital.

If you learn how to breathe your way to long-lasting sex, you can keep your sexual arousal in check and hold back ejaculation during sex.

So what is the correct breathing technique?

1. Don't move your shoulders up and down as you breathe - keep them leveled at all times.

2. Use your diaphragm - breathe with your belly. It helps to bring in more oxygen into the body, and gives you greater control during sex.

3. Don't suck in your belly as you breathe in. Instead, push it out.

4. Don't breathe like a panting dog - that is when you take short, shallow and fast breaths during sex; it limits the flow of oxygen to your important muscle groups. Instead, take slow, deep, steady breaths.

5. Don't force your breathing, keep it natural. Because you don't want to increase your anxiety and make your body tensed.

How to Breathe Your Way to Long-Lasting Sex

#1 - Preparing for intercourse: The preparatory breathing

Many guys head straight to intercourse and let their arousal escalate without control.

Now, when it comes to satisfying a woman in bed, you need to take things slow and build up sexual anticipation in her - and foreplay is known to do just the trick to put her on the orgasmic edge, ready to tip over.

Spending more time on foreplay can help you hold off an early ejaculation, because it will give you time to relax.

So what you do here is, you control your breathing right from the onset of foreplay - don't wait till your arousal escalates.

During foreplay, take deep, slow breaths, making sure you breathe with your belly and not with your chest and shoulder.

Again as mentioned, don't suck in your belly as you breathe in. Instead, push it out. This will help you to take in more air, which will get you relaxed and comfortable.

#2 - During intercourse: The in-sex breathing

This breathing technique should be carried over from the preparatory breathing. It will help you control an early climax before things get out of hands.

Remember, take a slow, deep breath, with belly movement.

And when sex intensifies, your breathing will start to escalate, you will also notice a tightening of your PC muscles. When you notice these signs, you need to slow down your thrusting and try to keep your pelvic muscles relaxed.

Plus, make sure you take deep breaths for every 10 to 30 seconds to keep you in control.

Now, if you're finding it difficult to keep your breathing under control, don't force it. Stop thrusting and go down on her and allow your breathing to become normal for a while.

Practice Makes Perfect!

Just like any thing in life, you need to make a conscious effort and practice.

If you follow the 2 breathing techniques I listed above, you should be able to increase the time you spend during sex. It worked for me, and it can work for you too.

Just don't expect results right away as it will take time and consistent practice on your part to see substantial results.

The good news is, any man can learn to "re-program" his physical and mental abilities to last longer in bed and give his woman the actual intercourse time she deserves. Learn how others are able to add 30 or even 60 minutes to the time they spend during sex and how you can too by reading this article: How to Last Longer In Bed

Finding Myself Alone: Who Am I Without a Relationship?

Finding Myself Alone: Who Am I Without a Relationship?

About eight weeks ago I separated from my husband; it was my decision: I asked him to leave. The events that happened after that, his reactions, his poor choices erupting out of anger and a desire to get control back (of me, of the relationship, of the family, of his life) led to a tumultuous and, at times, harrowing path for my children and myself. I've been processing through the myriad emotions and aspects of how separation affects me and my life moving forward at my blog.

I woke today with a question, led by my active imagination which from time to time pictures me dating and finding another (healthier) relationship. I do believe it will happen in time, though I do not feel whole or healed enough to start; I need to thoroughly process through all the hurts and damage inflicted by my husband, as well as let things settle out as we all get used to a new normal. I need to look honestly and openly at the warning signs that I either saw and ignored, for not knowing how to define or how much weight to place on them, or didn't see until the issue had grown so large as to result in an insurmountable obstacle to continuing in marriage with him.

The question that entered my mind was this: who am I without relationship? Who am I as a single woman? Do I really know her, who she is, what she likes. Her passions and goals and dreams.

I'd so completely given myself over, identity included, to being married, to being his wife. Though I'd thought I was being so careful to avoid that common pitfall, I found in those last months I'd lost myself, had given up pieces of my identity both intentionally and unintentionally, to make myself more compatible with him.

I couldn't see it, or the gravity or the depth of identity loss, until I felt panicked inside, as I looked at the last vestiges of my truest self and the conflict within me to either relinquish this, and risk completely dying inside, or find another way, a way out. When I was faced with that last piece of identity and the knowledge that he would require me year after year to give it up again (it relates to my birthday and his refusal to acknowledge either my existence or my specialness in any way, and how that revealed just how little he regarded my contribution as a person to the world and to his life), desperation rose within me.

When I viewed giving up begging him, year after year, to acknowledge my birthday as one day a year where my existence was celebrated, the proverbial floodgates opened, and I saw parade before my mind's eye all the other ways I'd given up pieces of myself because he required it of me.

Suddenly, I looked at myself and saw but a thin, fragile shell of my former self, the girl I'd been prior to meeting him. I saw how he'd eroded at my self-confidence, stealing my joy in pastimes or endeavors that fed my soul, and I saw how emaciated my soul had become - emaciated to the point where even engaging in one or two activities as I could (with three children in the mix to take care of) effected but a drop on my tongue after having walked in a desert for over a decade.

I didn't know myself any longer, but I knew the path to rediscovering myself did not follow the current path. That is to say, that in order to rediscover my truest self, I could not stay married to him. Some friends advised a 'trial' separation; I knew that any trial and reunification would only result in travelling further down this path.

Further, the person he'd shown himself to be during all the years of marriage, and his vocalization of his acknowledgement of the need to change while immediately followed by expressing in words his refusal to change, meant that these same issues that had plagued and deteriorated my marriage from the earliest days would follow with me through the rest of my life, if I stayed with him.

Since I could not accept that, since I could no longer exist with the conflict internally that created tension from not living authentically or in harmony with my personal integrity - that I was carrying a toxic marriage and pretending it was merely 'rough times' and that I just had to push through - I decided to walk away.

Without him, I can breathe again. I spend a lot of time looking back, not just to teach myself what I should have seen and will hopefully see next time but also to ask who was I, and how can I reconnect that younger girl with the woman I have become?

I talked to a friend last week, one I'd known before him, and in the conversation I mentioned that I hadn't baked in years, had in fact nearly gotten rid of my mixer. He responded with shock, you gave up baking? I'd not talked to him in nearly ten years, but he knew that baking was a fundamental part of who I am. I replied by saying I'd given it up for him because he didn't value it and nit-picked and criticized me and everything I made. He killed my love for baking and baked goods.

The list of passions he killed or eroded away until they crumbled goes on, and that is not the point of this article. The point is my journey to finding those pieces that I allowed him to destroy, and being gentle with myself.

Gentleness with myself has not come naturally or easily. Although this again is a different story entirely, my upbringing taught me to treat myself harshly, no excuses or allowances for failure or not living up to the standard - and my standard always sat out of reach, further than I could ever hope to attain.

But these damaged pieces of my soul desperately need gentleness; they require a soft hand to pick up the shattered pieces. And then they require patience and time to put them back together.

I don't know how all the pieces fit anymore; they haven't fit together in too long, and some have been so damaged it is not clear how they fit into the whole of my soul. The possibility exists too that their position or their appearance or their function might have shifted with time and maturity.

Beyond finding the activities and passions that will help me find myself again, the deeper question still remains: who am I without relationship, as a single woman? I don't have that answer yet, and it will take a process to get there. The goal, though, is to become confident and assured of me, alone, and take that person into relationship. To continually invest in her, instead of giving her over to his pursuits, his passions, his likes and dislikes. To retain my identity and simply add that to the duality of relationship.

Maybe because of youth, or lack of finances or other resources, I neglected myself. I put my pursuits and passions on hold until a more opportune time in the nebulous future - especially those that I would have engaged solo because my husband didn't want to do them with me, and I strove to make all my available time as a gift to him. I didn't realize at the time that that gift of my time and availability was rejected; he never got to the point where he agreed to do something I wanted but he didn't really like.

I didn't understand when people would advise me to keep up with my pursuits, to not neglect my passions and not let the excuse of lack of money or time prevent me. Now, too late for this marriage, I see the wisdom in the advice; further, I understand what they meant and the effect not following that advice had on me and on my relationship.

I do not intend to make that mistake again. But my husband made that mistake too, in neglecting his truest self, his passions. Oh, he made more time for his things than I did; somehow he had the right and I did not, another unhealthy dynamic in that relationship. But over time, he isolated himself more and more, neglecting or perhaps feeling pressured by me to give up his pursuits because I couldn't engage with him in them. Somehow in the abundance of individual pursuits, only one shared activity ever emerged, watching TV or movies.

So, who am I, without relationship? I'm not sure I can put her into words yet, but finding her, identifying her, and treasuring her are my priorities in this rare opportunity to separate and have the single adult experience - hopefully in a more complete way than I did before I was married the first time.

How To Attract Healthy Relationships

How To Attract Healthy Relationships

The struggle to attract a healthy, ultimately fulfilling relationship is one we have all come up against at some point in our lives. Most people don't realize that it all comes down connecting with love. But not love for someone else as is assumed when speaking about relationships.

The essence of a loving relationship is the ability to love you first. Your own self-esteem is the key. Without this you can't build the foundation necessary to connect with another individual on more than a physical level. When you don't love yourself, you become a magnet for individuals who feel the same way about themselves. Law of attraction guarantees us this.

Another way unhealthy relationships begin is when we try to fill our own "void" - the emptiness that the inability to love ourselves leaves us with - with the feeling of being "loved" from someone else.

We expect that their love is enough. We feel that our new partner's feelings for us will fill the void. It won't. No matter how hard you try, that "void" will always come back to haunt you. So, how do you begin to even tackle an issue as large as life as not being able to love yourself? Awesome question.

First you need to figure out the first instance in your life when you felt you could not, or would not love yourself. Follow that up with other moments in time you felt that same way. If it was a result of someone else's actions, behaviors, or words towards you - realize these two truths of human nature:

• People make the best choices available to them in the moment (we're talking psychological here, not recognized consequences of actions), and

• Every behavior has a positive intention.

Second, you need to understand that it was no ones intention to make you feel un-lovable. Their actions, behaviors, and/or words were for them, not you.

What I mean is that they said or did those things to you because it gave them something they needed. They needed to feel power. They needed to belittle you to feel better about themselves. Sad, I know. But those people were acting on behalf of their own dysfunctional psychology. It had nothing to do with who you are as a person, and everything to do with who they were.

How, then, do we attract a healthy relationship? By loving ourselves first. The minute you begin to love yourself it will not only help you throughout your life and all of the challenges this life will entail, but you put love out into the universe. It can't help but reciprocate. I know it sounds easier than it is. I hear you. We go through so many experiences in our lives that the walls around our hearts seem impossible to breach.

I would encourage you to do things that will allow you to connect with your true self again - meditation, start a journal, start a hobby, exercising, hiring a life coach, etc... With some faith and time, you will love yourself again - and a whole new world of love will open up - and smile.

The Amazing Glory

The Amazing Glory

Lord of bounty, offer us your courage to face life's challenges with wisdom. We ask this through Christ, our Lord the Savior. Challenges transformed through a glorious victory means dearly to us, your apostles. This triumph would be shared across all nations with dignity and humility. Celebrating your greatness would be exalted.

Christ of life, thank you for giving your life to mankind. It is our honor to prove our worth to you. May you give us resilience for us to make your sacrifice worth it.

I feel grateful for each day that you endow upon us, your highness. Thank you for another day to appreciate the beauty of your creation. The gift of life is like a diamond that will never be torn apart until the end of time. It is our duty to protect this life with all of our heart and soul.

Mankind should be thankful that we are born with a companion. We are blessed with our mother. We all start our journey with a family until such time that we make our own family. Through this process, life on earth goes on. Newborns need to cry out loud for the world to be aware of their existence. Thank you for the day that we are able to take a glimpse of the nature that you have prepared for mankind

Thank you, Oh Lord! for the family we have in each home within the world you created. We also feel blessed for the trustworthy friends we have. Thank you for the shared memories we will cherish until the end. Unforgettable memories will always remain in our hearts as we grow old together with our loved ones in a place called home where we feel safe, comfortable and secured.

I would like to personally express my heartfelt gratitude to our Lord, Jesus Christ, for the inspiration to protect my family and for the determination in guiding my friends through their journey towards success. Success comes through the help of our Christ, families and friends.

Thank you for making me realize my imperfections for it prompts me to improve the areas in my life that calls for it. I would never be who I am right if it were not for your help. And with that, I would surely assure that no matter what happens, I will always be at your side.

We ask these in Jesus Name, Amen.

Relationships: Does The Fear Of Abandonment Stop You From Leaving A Relationship?

Relationships: Does The Fear Of Abandonment Stop You From Leaving A Relationship?

While someone can have relationships that they want to be in, they can also have relationships that they don't want to be in. This doesn't mean that one will no longer spend time with these people though; as they might still spend time with them.

In this case, one is not going to be listening to how they feel; they are going to be ignoring how they feel. How this affects their life can depend on what the relationship is like and/or how often they see the other person.

The Type

If one was to have a friend or a number of friends who were not right for them, it might not have the same effect as it would if their partner was not right for them. This is because one usually spends more time with their partner than they do with their friends.

However, it could all depend on the kind of influence that a friend is having on their life. If they are having a negative influence on their life, it might not matter how time they spend with them.

Primary Relationship

When it does relate to the person who one is in an intimate relationship with, they are not going to have as much time away from them. In most cases, one will live with the person and this is generally going to mean that they will see them every day.

The other person will be a big part of their life and it won't be as easy for them to get away. There may be times when their partner is away or at work, but other than that, they will be there.

Half and Half

One might find that they no longer want to be around the other person or they could find that they are unable to decide what they want. This could mean that the other person has moments where they act in a certain way and moments when they act in another way.

It then might not matter how bad their behaviour is as one is focused on what they do that is good and does their best to block out what isn't. Due to the other person's behaviour, one might know where they stand.

Up And Down

Their relationship is not going to allow them to experience emotionally stability; it is going to create emotionally instability. This may be something that took place from the moment they met the other, or it may have appeared as time went by.

Yet, even though their relationship may have moments where they feel respected, if it is mixed with moments where they feel disrespected, it is not going to be good for them. This will be a clear sign that one needs to speak up or to walk away from the other person.

Another Experience

For some people, this kind of scenario might not be something they can relate to and this is because they don't put up with bad behaviour. If they were to come across someone who acts in a way that is harmful they would simply walk away.

Yet, if there was a time when they were in the same position, they might be able to emphasise with what they are going through. This is likely to mean that they will offer their support as opposed to telling the other person to 'just leave' or to simply 'walk away'.

Abuse

The reason one wants to leave the other person could be because they are abusive. This could mean that the other person tries to control them through their words and actions.

Being with the other person is not allowing one to be themselves and to grow; it is destroying them. In their mind, they might wonder why they can't walk away and this outlook is likely to be backed up by the people they know.

Grown Apart

Yet, just because one wants to leave the person they are with, it doesn't necessarily mean that it's because they are abusive. At one point in time they may have been on the same page, but as time has passed, this is no longer the case.

All the time one stays with the other person, it is stopping them from being able to embrace who they have become. As the other person is not abusive, it could cause the people around them to question why they want to leave them

Conflict

On one side, one wants to leave the other person (for whatever reason) and on the other, they are unable to follow through. When they think about leaving the other person, they will end up feeling incredibly uncomfortable.

If one is in touch with their emotions, they might find out that they fear being abandoned. But if they are not aware of their emotions, they could just experience fear and that's as far as it goes.

Dependent Child

When one fears being abandoned, they won't feel like an interdependent adult; they will feel like a dependent child. At an emotional level, they will feel as though they need the other person in order to survive.

Many years will have passed since they were a child, and this will be known through their appearance, but they are still unable to feel like an adult. Their behaviour is being defined by how they felt as a child.

Emotionally Stuck

One approach would be for one to look at what is taking place in their mind; this would involve changing one's thoughts and beliefs. However, the reason one fears being abandoned could come down to the fact they were abandoned during their childhood.

What this means is that it is not about what is going on in their mind - it is about what is taking place in their body. How they felt when they were abandoned during these early years has stayed trapped within their body. And as one didn't have the ability to regulate their emotions during these early years or to think about what was happening, it would have felt like the end of the world

Awareness

In order for one to let go of this fear and feeling of being abandoned, they will need to face the pain that has stayed trapped within their emotional body. This will take place through one grieving their unmet childhood needs.

If one has been avoiding how they feel, it could mean that they need to seek the assistance of a therapist or a healer. Through their support, one will be able to gradually get in touch with how they feel and to grieve their unmet childhood needs.

Be Your Own Savior

Be Your Own Savior

After watching generations of women give up their dreams of a career and success in favor of marriage, and then watching them struggle for survival after a messy divorce, when I got into the counseling field, I decided to tell women to concentrate on their career before they looked for a life partner. I wanted to make sure they always had a way to earn a living no matter what curve balls were thrown at them.

When you're young, in your twenties and thirties, you want the dream of love and marriage; you're not as motivated to try to succeed in the business world, so it's a hard sell. For years, I've been hearing, "When am I going to meet my soul mate?" No matter what else is going on in their lives, the first thing they want to know is when they're going to meet their soul mate.

How do you tell someone who thinks that all her problems will be solved if she can just find someone to marry, that her problems may just be starting, not ending? How do you tell her that she may be the one who has to be responsible for paying the bills if her husband spends all their money on things they can't afford and don't need?

While marriage for many can be a wonderful experience, it's not a panacea for everything or everyone. And, if you're expecting your spouse to be the source of all your happiness and the solver of all your problems, you're going to be sorely disappointed.

Your own personality comes into play here. If you are a negative person, no one is going to make you into an optimist. You have to want to change and you have to work hard at making those changes, otherwise, you'll always be dissatisfied with your life and your discontent will eventually poison your relationship.

We're not talking about someone who suffers from clinical depression. That's a completely different situation and can be handled medically and with good counseling and a change of diet.

What we're talking about is the kind of person who is never satisfied, never feels any joy, and no matter what good things come her way, she will always feel that something is missing. Even a soul mate can't fill those empty spaces inside her; she has to find a way to fill them herself.

All of which brings us back to why I tell women to get their career off the ground before they get married, so that if their life doesn't turn out the way they wanted and their dreams fall apart, they will at least be able to support themselves while figuring out what they want to do next.

One Meal at a Time, One Workout at a Time

One Meal at a Time, One Workout at a Time

It can be rather difficult to plan out what you are going to eat for an entire month or even in smaller increments of a week at a time especially when starting out. The same can be said of the workout routine you plan on sticking with long term.

The problem is, often people approach the weight loss process as if it is a runner's sprint when in actuality it is much more similar to a marathon. When you think of losing weight with this mindset, you realize the fact that you are not supposed to give 100% effort for the first week or month and then go back to unhealthy habits.

Tackle The Process One Meal at a Time, One Workout at a Time

In other words, what long-term benefit will you gain if you only eat healthy and exercise for a month, then go back to what caused you to gain weight in the first place?

Also try not to dwell on the end goal for that may cause you to become frustrated. This is similar to a marathon runner, when they begin their journey they are not thinking of mile 26 at that moment but simply focusing on mile number one.

Therefore for the time being, just focus on one meal at a time and one workout at a time.

When you focus on making choices that will be appropriate to eat for tomorrow, you ensure that day is nutritionally appropriate. Once that day ends successfully, you can proceed to focus on the next day, and the cycle continues.

The same for your workout routine. When you've decided on which activities, exercises, or sports you want to do regularly, just focus on getting off that couch or out of the house and completing what you've promised yourself.

As difficult as your first couple weeks will be in regards to motivating yourself to get moving, know that with continued diligence, your entire mind and body will soon change and come to truly relish the exercise.

But don't concern yourself with what's three months, or a year down the road and instead just focus on your next workout.

Approaching the weight loss process one meal at a time and one workout at a time will really get you focusing on the present hopefully inspiring you to make healthy choices.

Learning the Value of a Human Life

Learning the Value of a Human Life

Humanity is identifying with someone else's pain

~Joan Chittister~

I just finished reading John Grisham's The Confession, a novel about a capital murder case in Texas. The majority of civilized countries have discontinued the death penalty. We have the unusual arrangement of leaving the decision to individual states.

I understand the feelings of families whose loved ones are murdered. My first reaction would be one of revenge as well. The bible even seems to justify capital punishment. Yet the bible was written thousands of years ago. Later in the bible, Jesus said in response to a question about killing a prostitute, "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." We have progressed to a somewhat more humane approach to dealing with each other even when serious crime is involved, at least in our saner moments.

If we follow the biblical response of an eye for an eye, killing a person who kills someone else is perfectly justifiable. Following this mode of thinking, it would be okay to steal from a thief, to beat up someone guilty of assault or to embezzle money from an embezzler. The last three don't make much sense to us, although to many states, and a few other countries, execution still does.

We say we want justice. What we really mean is that we want to punish those who do not do what we expect them to do. If we are really interested in public safety, we are on the wrong track. Long ago we learned that punishment does not make people do what is expected. In fact, it leads to more criminal behavior.

What might we do instead? Three possibilities come to mind. The first is to understand why people engage in crime. As an example, can you think of one attempt to understand the mind of a sexually abusive priest? This is not a new problem, yet little is generally known about those who act this way or why.

A second possibility is to try understanding what goes on in criminals' environments inclining them to act in a criminal way. There have been scientific studies of this issue, but they have not seemed to come into the awareness of those involved in administering the criminal justice system.

The third possibility is to discover what would work to change criminal behavior. We have made strides toward alternative approaches to dealing with criminals such as restitution to their victims and their families, having them hear what their victims have to say and helping convicts learn better ways to live their lives.

Yet, for the most part we still have a criminal punishment system, meting out justice in the form of incarceration, fines or in extreme cases, forfeit of life. Capital punishment prevents the criminal from killing again. Yet there is no clear evidence that countries with capital punishment have lower murder rates. If anything it is just the opposite. There is also the chance of executing the wrong person.

Life lab Lessons

How do you feel about the death penalty?
How would you feel if someone you knew was murdered?
How would you feel if the perpetrator was a relative of yours?
What could our society and its criminal justice system do differently?
Consider how you can learn to treat others with more respect?

Affairs of the Heart

Affairs of the Heart

Until the Internet came along, discussions of affairs of the heart were few and far between. Since

then, they have become one of the most controversial topics of conversation by the young and old alike, married or single, rich or poor.

Seemingly intelligent and successful people get on the Internet and they leave their real life relationships and their common sense at the door. They are so involved in their virtual affairs, that they take no heed of the damage they are doing to their real relationships.

The debate has always been that it takes nothing away from the relationships they have and it's an inexpensive and enjoyable pastime. If this were just a message board where hundreds of people were posting their points of view, it might hold water. But these virtual relationships, once they take off, become a very powerful force and not easy to walk away from.

Spouses are more threatened by an affair of the heart than an actual affair. An affair has its parameters; squeezing in visits whenever possible whereas an affair of the heart, conducted via the Internet, requires no face-to-face meeting and can be arranged at the last minute, at any time of the day or night, or just consist of emails and IMs. Phone calls and text messages are more easily traced, but once people have gotten to that stage, they are almost ready to go to the next level, an actual affair.

Consider the woman who puts on her sexiest nightgown in hopes of enticing her husband to make love with her and, every time she tries to get him to come to bed, he tells her he'll be there in just a minute. Hours later, he is still on the Internet talking to his virtual lover.

Then, there is the man who waits for his wife to come to bed and she is so engrossed in emailing and IMing her virtual lover, that she hardly pays any attention to her husband when he tries to get her to shut off her computer for the night.

Many relationships have ended because the partner feels neglected and can't fight the unseen competition. For those who think an affair of the heart takes nothing away from a person's real relationship, they have never had to compete with a computer for their spouse's attention.

Computers, in and of themselves, can be very addictive, especially if someone has an addictive personality. Factor in an affair of the heart and that person is so hooked that he can't live a normal life. Everything revolves around getting online, staying online, being part of an online community, and building online relationships.

Even if a person does not have an addictive personality, an online affair of the heart can become an addiction that is no easier to break than alcohol or drugs.

Take away someone's computer, take away his community of online friends, take away his virtual lover, and you will see him go through the same physical and emotional withdrawal symptoms as if he were in rehab. If he begins to see this as an addiction and wants to break it, he may have to go cold turkey because there are too many outside influences that could drag him back in.

Relationships: Does The Fear Of Abandonment Cause You To Go Back To A Relationship?

Relationships: Does The Fear Of Abandonment Cause You To Go Back To A Relationship?

If one wants to buy a new car, it could be because their old car is no longer drivable or it could be because it no longer fits their requirements. And once a decision has been made, they are unlikely to use their old car again.

One could go back on their decision and keep their old car, but this would only create problems. If the car is no longer usable and one tries to drive it, they could be putting their life at risk.

Just as if one was to drive a car that is no longer appropriate it could also cause them problems. In this case, their life might not be at risk, but the car might be too small for their family or it might be too expensive for them to run.

The Ideal

However, no matter what one's reason is for wanting to get a different car, it will be important for them to follow through and let go of their old car. And although one might feel emotionally attached to their car, this attachment is unlikely to hold them back.

Their head is likely to rule their heart in this instance and this will allow them to do what is right. If, on the other hand, their heart ruled their head, it would be a lot harder for them to let go.

Another Human Being

When it relates to another human being, it can be a lot harder for one to do the right thing. After taking the first step and leaving a relationship, they might soon find that they are back where they were before.

How they felt in the relationship was enough to make them leave, but it hasn't been enough to keep them away. When this happens, it could be said that one's heart is ruling their head.

The Reason

One may have walked away from the relationship because it was abusive, but it might have been for a different reason. Perhaps one is no longer the person they were before and this has caused them to feel disconnected from the other person.

It if was due to abuse, there would have been a clear reason why they had to leave and one may have had the support of their friends and family. But when it comes to someone who didn't abuse them, their relationship may have looked fine and this could mean that other people questioned their reasons for leaving.

Going Back

However, regardless of how other people saw things and whether they were supportive or not, one would have listened to themselves. However, even though one did listen to themselves for a short time, as time passed, this was longer the case.

Their time away from the other person may have lasted for a matter days, weeks or even months, but the outcome was the same. Therefore, it won't matter how long one managed to listen to themselves, as they have ended up going back to the person they wanted to leave.

Relief

When one is back with the other person, it might give them a sense of relief (at least for a short time). Yet, as one didn't want to go back to the other person, this might be hard for them to comprehend.

On one onside, they want to get away from them, but on the other, they feel a sense of comfort. What is taking place externally may have played a part in why they have returned, but it won't be the only reason.

Self-talk

When one is back with the other person, they might start to put themselves down. This will mean that not only are they with someone they don't want to be with, they are also their own worst enemy.

What is taking place in their head could end up being supported by the people around them. They might wonder why one has gone back to the same person and if they have left them before, it might not be the first time they have heard this.

Abandoned

When one leaves the relationship, they may end up feeling as though they have been abandoned. And due to how overwhelming this feeling is, it won't matter why they left the relationship in the first place.

Once they are back with the other person, they will no longer feel the same and as time passes, they might start to wonder why they are with them. When one gets to the point where they no longer feel abandoned, they might end up leaving the other person again.

Round in Circles

This could be a scenario that plays out for quite some time; unless one decides to do something else. In order for them to change their behaviour, they will need to change how they feel.

If one believes that their feelings are being caused by their thoughts, they will end up focusing on what is taking place in their mind. Yet, if one feels abandoned when they leave a relationship, it is likely to relate to what is taking place in their body and not their mind.

The Body

What is taking place in their mind may trigger how they feel, but it won't cause how they feel. These feelings are likely to relate to what took place during their childhood.

To be left at this age would have felt like the end of the world and this is because one didn't have the ability to regulate how they feel. Not only that, this may have taken place before one had developed the ability to think.

The Past Remains

As the emotional experiences of the past have remained within their body, it won't matter whether one remembers what took place or not. And unless this emotional baggage is released, one will continue to behave in the same way.

Awareness

When it comes to changing what is taking place in the mind, it is all about force and action, but the same approach won't work when it comes to the emotional body. One won't need to use force or anything else to change how they feel; they will simply need to surrender.

This means that one will need to face what is within them and to allow themselves to grieve their unmet childhood needs. The assistance of a therapist, healer and/or a support group may be needed here.
